Dear Friends and Family,
As some of you may know, my niece and godchild, Sophia, unexpectedly passed away on June 22, 2006. Sophia was an amazing 13-month old little girl with a loving personality. She is terribly missed by us all.
With Sophia as my inspiration, I am running this year's Boston Marathon on April 21st. I am joining up with The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center to help me cross the finish line. I am very excited and feel privileged about running the marathon but I need your help. I humbly ask for a contribution to support this undertaking.
Sophia was born with Down Syndrome. The Respite Center comforted my sister's family at a difficult and trying time. The Respite Center embraced her family providing them with care and understanding. The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center is a home away from home for children and adults with disabilities, a place that offers parents time off from the emotional and physical care needed by their children. The Respite Center provides intensive support services for families including daycare, after school care, overnight respite care and community employment supports. The Respite Center is a wonderful place that gives back to the community in so many ways.
I have pledged to raise $2,000 for the Respite Center and would be grateful for your assistance. I have personally paid the registration fees and other expenses, so all of the money raised will go directly to the Center in its efforts to help others.
Would you please join me in this effort? To donate, go to www.hopkintonrespite.com and click "Donations". Click "Make A Donation". In the purpose box, type "Sophia Marathon" and follow the instructions.
If you prefer, you can mail me a check made out to "The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center" and send it to:
Claud Salomão 144 Fomer Road Southampton, MA 01073
Thank you so much for your support.
Sincerely,
Claud Salomão
